Talk to an expert & fix your pool leaks!

Why is your water bill going up?

If you’ve noticed an unexpected increase in your water bill, your pool might be the culprit. Although a pool always consumes water, certain signs indicate there could be a silent leak costing you money.

Often, these leaks go unnoticed because automatic refill systems maintain the water level without you realizing it. However, water consumption spikes month after month.

In climates like Florida, evaporation is normal, but daily water loss shouldn’t exceed 1 inch. If you notice the level dropping faster or needing constant refilling, you could have a leak.

Other signs include:

  • Wet or soggy areas around the pool

  • Visible cracks

  • Air in the filtration system

  • Loss of pressure in the pump

An easy way to check is by doing the bucket test, comparing natural evaporation with actual loss. Fill a bucket with water and place it on the first step of the pool. Mark the water level inside and outside the bucket and check after 24–48 hours. If the water level outside the bucket drops more than inside, there’s abnormal loss.

Remember, a leak not only affects your water bill. It can also damage your pool’s structure, erode the ground, and lead to higher repair costs.
